Performing Companies
Taylor Quintero, Director
The Performing Company is designed for the student who makes dance a major priority and whose technique and skills qualify them to participate in competitions and conventions, as well as our other company performances (Teamwork, Spring Recital, etc.). Selected conventions for the year will be made known to students upon acceptance to the Company. There are four levels in the Performing Company.
Members of the Performing Company are chosen through audition. Interested dancers must be at least 9 years old at the time of the audition. Technique, attendance, work ethic, and overall dance abilities are considered in the selection process. Dancers do not need to be currently enrolled at PCD to audition for the Performing Company, although they will need to enroll in classes at PCD if accepted. Acceptance to the Performing Company includes acceptance to the Prep Company to give company members access to those more rigorous classes.
Company members must attend their mandatory Performing Company class that meets once a week, as well as their Prep Company classes. Other classes are not required, but are strongly encouraged to maintain and improve technique, strength, and flexibility. Attendance must be exemplary and any absence should be made known to the company directors in advance. Additional rehearsals or intensives may be scheduled throughout the school year; dates and times will be communicated as soon as possible.

Performing Company Requirements
Performing Company dancers must participate in the Preparatory Company and adhere to the policies of the Preparatory Company.
Regular class attendance is mandatory and strictly enforced. Dancers are allowed up to three (3) excused absences. This includes family emergencies, illness, and school commitments. An unexcused absence or more than three excused absences are grounds for removal from the team, and will be discussed by all the directors of the Performing Company.
Attire and appearance for all classes must be professional and clean. Hair MUST be pulled away from the face and secured so that it does not become undone during class or rehearsal. If a dancer does not adhere to dress code, they may be asked to leave class. Pink ballet tights and a black leotard are required for ballet; tan tights, black leotard, and black booty shorts should be worn for jazz.
In addition to their competitions, dancers are required to participate in our NorthPark Christmas performance, Teamwork Concert, and PCD Spring Recitals. All performances and competitions are mandatory.
Performing Companies will each learn and compete with at least two numbers per level. Participation in additional routines is optional and by invitation only. Additional routines require an extra fee to cover choreography and additional rehearsals. Commitment to these additional numbers are of utmost importance and must be adhered to FULLY. If a dancer is not able to attend a rehearsal, it will be considered an unexcused absence and will be grounds for removal from the routine.
Questions about tuition and fees may be directed to the PCD office.
