Make-Up Audition Day: CLOSED

Audition Guidelines

  • Dancers must be entering the 4th grade or higher for the 2024-25 school year.

  • Dancers should wear the following:

    • A black, tight-fitting top, black leggings, and half shoes

    • Hair in a neat ponytail with the sides slicked back

    • Dancers may substitute a black leotard for the black top, or wear tan tights (with or without booty shorts on top) instead of black leggings.

    • Light make-up is encouraged for this audition (eyeliner, mascara, blush, lipstick/gloss).

  • Please plan to warm up and stretch before the audition as a warm-up will not be taught.

  • Be ready to show tumbling if you have experience.

Audition Materials

  • Dancers should learn the routines for the grade they will be entering or the 2024-2025 year. Our company director will review the routines at the beginning of the audition and answer any questions.

  • If some of the steps in the routines are too difficult, feel free to substitute something you feel confident doing (like doing a single pirouette instead of a double, doing an X-jump instead of a tilt jump, etc.) or stand still for that portion of the choreography. We would rather see a clean performance than dancers attempting technical elements that they cannot do safely.

4th - 6th Grade

Everyone auditioning for our companies will perform this routine. Two dancers are showing an easier and more advanced version of the choreography. Learn whichever version is appropriate for your age group and best showcases your skill set.

7th - 12th Grade

Everyone auditioning for our companies will perform this routine. Two dancers are showing an easier and more advanced version of the choreography. Learn whichever version is appropriate for your age group and best showcases your skill set.

Performing Company Requirements

  • Performing Company members must be enrolled in their weekly company class. Performing Company members are required to also be Preparatory Company (or Prep) members as the weekly company class for the Performing Company will predominately be used for choreographing material for the upcoming competition season. (Anyone who auditions for the Performing Company who is not already in Prep will also receive an invitation to join Prep.)

  • Regular class attendance is mandatory and strictly enforced. The office should be notified via email every time a student has a conflict with class and will be absent or late.

  • Attire and appearance for all classes must be professional and clean.

  • In addition to their spring competitions, dancers are required to participate in our NorthPark Christmas performance, Teamwork Concert, and PCD Spring Recitals. All performances and competitions are mandatory.

More information about company policies will be shared in the invitation letter for Performing Company. Any questions about these policies, including tuition and fees, may be directed to the PCD office.
